Council to give directions on proposed 2010 budget
Fayetteville City Council
When and where:5 p.m. Monday, work session at City Hall
What to expect:The council will be asked to give City Manager Dale Iman
final directions on his proposed fiscal 2010 budget. The council is set
to vote on a budget June 8.
Why it matters:A majority of the council says it wants to adopt a tax rate
of around 45 cents per $100 in value, whereas Iman is proposing 47.5 cents.
It’s now 53 cents. Home values rose, on average, by almost 30 percent
in the city after the county revalued property this year.
Other information:The Planning Department is scheduled to present three
ordinance proposals that the council earlier asked to be drafted. Those
proposals concern the signs, day cares and zoning restrictions around the
airport.
